Why GorillaMatz?
The gorilla is native to the Gabonese rainforest and is the strongest large land animal relative to its body weight. In Gabonese folklore, the gorilla is also regarded as the protector of the rainforest.
This symbolism reflects our mission:
to produce the strongest timber mats on the market, while doing so in a way that respects the forest, ensures long-term sustainability, and minimises our environmental footprint.
Consistent Quality by Design
All timber used in GorillaMatz products is processed at a single dedicated sawmill, using carefully selected beams with uniform widths and consistent dimensions. This controlled approach ensures repeatable quality, structural reliability, and long service life across all our mats.
Our logs originate exclusively from the Gabonese rainforest and are fully traceable. We ensure that all timber is sourced from third party certified forests or managed in compliance with CPAET/CFAD regulations, providing transparency and confidence throughout the supply chain.

Sustainability & Carbon Footprint
For many of our customers, reducing carbon footprint is a key corporate objective. GorillaMatz is uniquely positioned to support this goal.
Thanks to our production facility’s close proximity to the forest, we operate the most direct transport route from log harvesting to finished product shipment. This significantly reduces transport-related emissions and results in a low product carbon footprint.
In addition, we continuously optimise our production processes to further reduce environmental impact while maintaining the highest product standards.
